Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant is described as a bar that serves more food than alcohol, featuring pretty good fish tacos and appetizers. The waitstaff has a quirky demeanor, with aggressively smiling faces that turn mean-eyed when interacting with each other. It is recommended to stick to sandwiches and cheaper menu items, as the entrees are small and expensive. Despite mixed reviews on the bbq fish tacos and crab fritters, other menu items such as chicken and shrimp burritos, lobster with mashed potatoes, and sweet thai chicken wraps were praised. The atmosphere is described as having a big island vibe, with good service and a large selection of burgers with interesting toppings. Overall, the restaurant seems to have a loyal local following and was even featured on Triple D.
This is one of those places that purports to be a bar but probably sells more food than alcohol. Pretty good fish tacos and appetizers. Most of the waitstaff have a "tears of a clown" thing going on; aggressively smiling faces that turn melancholy and mean-eyed when interacting with their colleagues. Stick to the sandwiches and other cheaper menu items, as the entrees are just as small but twice as expensive.
First timers. Great service, waitress was really kind and friendly and helpful. Food was decent. Definitely bar food. Not a bad thing, just how I’d describe it. Chicken was seasoned really well and juicy. Tacos were ok. Prob wouldn’t get them again.
Went to listen to live music and have drinks. Wasn't overly busy, but the server didn't check back with us as often as I would have hoped. Ordered a shrimp and spinach dip that was an appetizer on special. It had 2 overcooked shrimp in it, and the dip was thinner than I expected a dip to be. It tasted ok though. Wouldn't order again. Tried the Cherry Limeade crush and had a lemon drop shot, and they were both good! Cute, beachy atmosphere. Band was decent. Would try again.
Food is fresh, choices are exotic and best servers in the area!
Flip Flops is popular amongst local residents to Red Mill and the surrounding neighborhoods. It was visited by Guy Fieri when he visited Hampton Roads and boasts his signature brand on the wall by the entrance. Their burger selection is great. Menu is not especially healthy but they have some interesting items and a huge selection of burgers with some interesting toppings. Came here for a working lunch with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by the burger. Inside is basic. Service was good.
