We hadn’t been back here since an anniversary dinner 2 years ago. After the last service and food, my wife had written it off the list. Now I remember why. It was packed, loud, chaotic and felt disorganized. We had an Open Table reservation at 7:30 and weren’t seated until 7:50. We asked our waitress about one of the appetizers and she obviously did not know what it entailed. We split an entree as we were not that hungry. For the money, thank God we did. The chicken was over cooked and dry, the potatoes were hash browns coated in butter and cheese. Needless to say, the pretzel bread was mainly my dinner. Come to Coopers Hawk for the wine, ditch the food. There’s a reason why, on a Saturday night, they had wide open reservation time slots. Unfortunately-remains off the list for us.
The noise level bordered on painful, but the food, wine and service were all great. Special shoutout to our server, Betty B who went above and beyond! She sorted out a minor problem for us, taking it upstairs and getting a more than satisfactory result. We will go back again, but never on a Saturday night. It was way too crowded!
Very delicious meal and outstanding wine, had samples of wine before deciding and was a very pleasant evening, will be back
The only issue was that there were only 3 people working a very crowded wine tasting area who were all so pulling member monthly wine selections. This created unacceptable amount of time between tastings, causing servers to rush in their explanations of the tastings and created a negative customer experience. Way too long to complete tastings.
Coopers is my absolute favorite place in VB. From the service to the wine and food itself, everything is outstanding. The only negative (for some, like my mother in law) would be the noise level during peak hours which impacts the ambiance. It’s important to note that this has nothing to do with coopers or their staff, but fellow patrons dining the main dining room can get really, really loud.
