As per one of the staff members, all the bagels at this restaurant are vegan. If you request, they can also make certain bagel sandwiches vegan. The Mediterranean bagel sandwich is already vegan. Additionally, they have salads available with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. View all feedback.
What Victoria Ann doesn't like about Bagel Baker:
The bagels at this restaurant are inconsistent and always different. They don't seem to care when they burn your bagel. The woman who answered the phone seemed uninterested when I told her my bagel was burnt, simply responding with "Okay." View all feedback.
The NY/NJ references should be removed because this is the farthest thing from a NY/NJ bagel. I would have low expectations in this area but this was a complete disappointment. My girlfriend ordered a salt bagel with cream cheese and tomato; and a plain bagel with Pork Roll, egg, and cheese. They made her an everything bagel with tomato, Pork Roll, cream cheese, egg, American cheese, and ketchup. How anyone thought that was edible was beyond me. Awful food, pretty bad service needless to say but I'll never go back.
I am not sure how I have not stepped foot in this place but I am glad I did today! Stopped in for a very simple breakfast sandwich (I was hoping for a perfect egg and cheese bagel). The interior is awesome, love the NYC feel of everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ordering process/system I noticed the most. Very quick ordering (no Apple Pay), then you pick up at the pick up window. Sandwich was amazing (forgot to get a photo) but I did the NYC style, eggs and cheese on an everything bagel. So so SO good!!!! Like so good that I've been plotting my next visit to get another one. Price was a little more than a Dunkin or somewhere similar but worth it! The bagel breakfast sandwich was $7. If you have somehow neglected this place like I did, please get there ASAP and support! You will not regret it.
To be honest, when I visit Bagel Baker, I can say that my experience there was very average. The design of the dining area and the staff were really nice. The only downsides, in my opinion, was the food.I thought it looked a little neat with the New York decorations. Especially the map since it can give you an idea of how people move around in the city. Though it looks neat, it does not really garner my attention much. The staff at this restaurant were very good at their job. They seem very busy most of the time but are very efficient at their tasks. They got my order in and gave it to me at a reasonable time.Sadly, the only downside here was the food. When I ate the avacado toast, it felt really messy with all the lettuce and tomatoes on it. Also, I think it kind of took away from the flavor of the avacado. The Tribeca tasted kind of bland because it did not really have that much flavor. My overall recommendation would be for people interested in this place to come if they like bagels a lot and are from New York. The place is not really fancy for breakfast food unless you like begals.Pros Staff was nice and efficient at their job. Decorations look unique.Cons Food was alright.
Hubby and I were looking forward to trying this place for a while. We went today, and all I can say is, No. We both ordered bagel sandwiches. Nothing about it was fresh. It very much tasted like all the ingredients were prepared way in advance and had been sitting for a while. The Bagels were not toasted, even though we were asked when we ordered, and had both ordered them that way. Bagels had that awkward staleness bread products get from being microwaved. The eggs were rubbery, the meats were cold in the middle the American cheese was not the right move, and it is on just about every one of their options. I really wanted to like this place, as we REALLY miss decent bagels. But those sandwiches sat like lead in our stomachs, and haunted us all day.
Happy New Year!I am not a huge bagel fan, but I do like one at least once every few weeks. This is one of my favorite places to go here in VA Beach. As a routine New York City goer, I have eaten at some of the classic bagel joints. This place is just as good as up North. I have two sandwiches that I always order. One is the lox with cream cheese, and the other is a BLT. Both bagels are on Everything Bagels. What can I say? They are awesome. The lox in particular is ridiculous. BOTH bagel sides, top and bottom are dressed up with bagel, cream cheese, onions, capers, AND lox. So it feels like you are getting two sandwiches. I'm okay with that. So if you are following with the math, I have my BLT, with my two lox spreads, which feels like three full sandwiches. The service is fast, and they are all super friendly. Very local vibes, and no stress. Well done, and see you next time.
