Every time we visit Baie des Anges we always pay a visit to this restaurant. Salvatore the owner is very welcoming and the food is typical Italian fare. Great place to enjoy an evening with family and friends View all feedback.
What Susan R doesn't like about Villa Marina:
DO NOT go here unless you speak French. We ordered a pizza to share, using the English descriptions offered on the menu. When I asked our waiter about the type of seafood in the seafood risotto, which offered no Description in English, he put in an order for it, at 24.00 euros, and the restaurant refused to cancel the order even after I kept insisting we never ordered it! I was passing this italian establishment and wanted an ice-cold refreshing beer, presuming they would have a moretti or peroni. The beer on offer didnt sound great, but i decided on an ipa. Taste wasnt good, served at the wrong temperature, small bottle, 10 euros. I cant comment on the food but wont be returning. Something so simple, an ice cold refreshing lager, and yet so wide off the mark.
Have been to this restraunt twice during a latest stay in Villneuve Loubet . Having got family who own property in the area for over 15 years can't believe we only found this place recently. First night was just my father and, but we were so impressed we arranged a dinner with friends here thr next night. Firstly atmosphere and general ambience was great. Staff were friendly , polite helpful . Won't dwell on it, other than to say from a covid safety point of view absolutely fine The food was great , having tried two mains and a desert over 2 nights (as well as people I was with . Service was superb . Staff almost speak perfect English, so it's suitable for those of us who don't speak French (the issue with my desert order on the 2nd night wasn't the restraunts fault entirely so hopefully readera wont read too deeply into this ! . . Basically, I would definitely recommend this as a must visit as it's certainly somewhere I'd return .
The most perfect mules ever as a starter that I changed my main for smaller meal as it was so filling . House wine , great service . Most enjoyable evening.
We were tired and hungry so we went to Villa Marina because it looked good from the outside. We were well received, with choice of table because it was pre 7.00pm. Service was very slow. It took 1hour and 30 minutes to get a starter, two glasses of wine and two very moderate pizzas. Pizza bases were soggy and fairly thick I would have thought that they had been sitting, already cooked for some time, prior to table service). The toppings were good but a decent pizza is base and topping ! We declined coffee because of the quality of service. We were given two glasses of limoncello because of the pizza quality ‘though we hadn’t complained, so presumably someone knew that they were poor. Not recommended for a return visit.
We came here last night as a group of seven. Friendly welcome, reasonable and pleasant service, good well cooked food and reasonably priced wine. A very enjoyable evening!
