Celebrating our anniversary on the Camino and found just the right place to dine. Elegant, sophisticated decor. Oscar was attentive, friendly, spoke English and helped us navigate the menu. Enjoyed Caldo (soup with beans, potatoes and turnip greens), Pulpo y Cachelos (octopus and boiled potatoes with olive oil and Spanish paprika) and a Salada Mixta (big salad with tuna). The complimentary amuse buche and homemade chocolate were a nice touch.
An unexpected stop in Vivalba and asking a kind gentleman in the street where we should eat he walked with us to Laris Pios. Our hosts Marcus and his father were very welcoming. Menu was excellent and food that matched. The wine list was extensive and tempting, however we opted for the Catalonia region Cava to celebrate a birthday. An added bonus at the end of our meal included a tour of the wine cellar and bread oven. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Found this restaurant (more of a wine bar with food? by chance. We were half way through cycling the Camino del Norte so were tired and looking for something light. We just had tortilla for two (huge and tasty with a big salad. There were some much more sophisticated dishes but we just didn't have the appetite. We had a couple of glasses of local white wine -they have a very extensive wine list and this seemed to be a speciality. Recommend for a light or indeed more special meal. Well priced too.
Random last minute decision to stop in Vilalba and we don't regret it! Tasty lunch in this little bar/restaurant we had some raciones of chiprones and mussels which were melt in your mouth! Certainly filled a spot! We had to wait a little as it is so popular but the atmosphere was great and it certainly was worth waiting for!
Marvellous lunch of Octopus Potatoes with a beautiful mixed salad. Washed down with a couple of beers and a bottle of red. All ingredients were fresh and (where applicable) cooked just right. Service was perfect, attentive but not pushy. All in a steal for €36. Then we had dinner ordered 3 'raciones ', but couldn 't eat them all so they let us cancel the third. The grilled mushrooms are fantastic. Service again excellent. And this was just €25! Best meals of the trip so far 5 days in.
