Di.vino - Vila Real de Santo António

We discovered this wonderful restaurant in May and had to go back in October. Both times we had superb food and service. I highly recommend Di Vino’s for anyone going to Portugal. They have a sign stating “Life is too short for bad wine”. They live up to this slogan with their food, as well as their wine.

Small and very friendly restaurant in Villa Real. It’s on the river front with nice views. It is owned and run by Carlos and his wife who does the cooking. Gambas Mocambique were so incredibly tasty. The Goan prawn curry was a taste tsunami without being to hot. But the almejas (clams) were the best we’ve tasted in Portugal. Great ambiance and Carlos is multilingual and very amusing. Thoroughly recommended.

I have been to Di Vinos several times and it just gets better and better! Carlos and Bea are wonderful hosts and make you feel most welcome. The menu has lots of choices, but I always order the same thing steak on the hot stone (with chips and salad). It is delicious! A very attractive little place with a unique Portuguese menu, excellent food and wine. Very nice owners.
