Great service, reasonable prices and really tasty food. I had fish with banana, which was lovely. My husband had the beef kebab. It’s looked on a bay skewer! The waitress completely understood coeliac disease and adapted my order to suit. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pocas Cafe:
We stopped by on our trip across the island as our final stop was Porto Moniz natural pools and we were fairly hungry so we decided to try this place. And frankly... this cafe has a huge room for improvement. I didn`t dare to try...the fish as the place looks too cheap to make me want to try. Wednesday June we were sightseeing in Porto Moniz, while walking along Frente de Mar we stopped at this seafront cafe. We took a seat outside underneath the sails and eventually ordered cappuccinos each. There were good views along the front and out...to sea. In the end we sort of regretted stopping here, firstly the coffee was rather bitter, the outside furniture was past its sell by date. The overhead sails could do with a good clean and the building needed a lick of paint. Not very nice coffee and staff did not seem all that bothered.
Called here for drinks while on a tour of the west of Madeira. Tea and coffee were OK although could have been hotter. Not great but OK.
Nice Tuna sandwich. Very good as a quick, small lunch. Clean place and nice service. Right by the pools.
Ok so our first visit here was great. The setting is fabulous as it's next to the rock pools, there is plenty of space outside to sit in the sun and enjoy your meal. Oh and to watch the lizards scurry around the rocks (and...pinch some of your tid bits We enjoyed pork chops and the meat on a skewer with those lovely maize squares at a reasonable price It was very busy as it was a hot day but the waitress was attentive even whilst rushed off her feet So we came back, this time it didn't seem as good, we had a long wait for even choosing from the menu and the food was just about warm on arrival. I've never heard a waitress (different one) say sorry to so many people, but the difference was the attitude for us. First visit the waitress was great, under pressure but put on a customer friendly face, second time not so much! Shame
