A little back story. We went to Burgau in 1987 for our honeymoon and loved our meal at Caravels. We went back 3 years ago and had a horrible meal and it closed soon after. This year it has reopened under new ownership. So, it is very nice inside and the staff is very nice. The shrimp appetizer was very good. However, the entrees were just ok. Plenty of seats inside and out, good value snacks and drinks. Nice clean toilets too. Good for a lunch time snack
We have never eaten here before and it was closed this time last year. It looks a bit uninviting from the outside but was actually lovely and bright inside. Some of the food was a bit experimental (dessert with tuna! but everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The chef was cooking fresh fish cataplana in the restaurant itself and those who ordered were offered second helpings. Definitely worth a visit

We visited on two occasions, as couples and then with the kids, and both times it was great. The food is top notch, well presented and cooked to perfection. It has some more unusual dishes but all we tried were delicious. The staff are very friendly and obviously proud of the food they cook. This is a wee gem and far better than any of the more well known restaurants we tried.
Food awful waited 2 hours for our food to arrive. When it came overcooked. Vegetables burnt chicken dried up.
