I went in with high expectations as I had been recommended this place by people who know how much I love sushi. I have been eating sushi since 1964 and I have had the great good fortune to have eaten at some of the best sushi bars in the world. To say I'm a little picky about sushi is a bit of an understatement though… Lol, that said, it just wasn't that interesting and it was very expensive. The bar is small and does not serve very many people and so we had to make a reservation. Normally I don't really like Omakase sushi unless I know the chef and the chef knows me. My experience has been that the meal is better when the chef actually knows you. The flavor profiles on the fish were not that interesting and there was an odd flavor texture to the rice. Overall I just didn't really enjoy the meal because the environment felt rushed and food was just not that good. I'm not being overly critical, I'm just being honest about my experience. I recently had sushi in a different restaurant in the south of Spain that was quite extraordinary and I was hopeful that this would be similar but unfortunately it was not. What I personally like about a good sushi meal is a relaxed environment where the fish is extremely fresh and the rice is really well-made and you just sit there and eat and chat with friends or read a book, but the environment and the food are relaxing and inspiring. What I found was there was too much energy invested in explaining to me what each course was and being distracted by the fact that it just wasn't that good tasting sushi. I don't know how to say it another way. I don't see myself going back to this restaurant.

I was 9 times in Japan and this is definitely in place! Amazing food! Great place! Amazing people!
