locally next to the danubio, converted building but still houses the remains of the previous or interesting integration between past and present. Fast and precise cuisine, good dishes. ..personal a little so precise View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Otto Wagner SchÜtzenhaus:
I'm always fascinated how long local people can stay with such bad performance. in the local sitting three guests, out there are 7 tables occupied and the waiters run stressed around as if there were no tomorrow! do not even know whether they have yellow musc plates on the map and fall into the word. The crowning: the chef! he finds next to kicks and do nothing the time, everyone who wants to go on the wc, ask individ... The new edition of the restaurant was opened in late summer 2022, and now a fish menu appears that is unusual in Vienna. Find a separate TA list under Liebfisch. The Schützenhaus building means “Shooting Center” was designed in 1904 by the great Vienna architect Otto Wagner and built in 1908 to protect the Danube Canal with military guns. You can see some of the original equipment for the weapon lifting devices mounted on the ceiling of the dining room.
Just had a very bad experience with this place. What can I say? Never! The most unfriendly ever! We waited for our bottle of wine 20 minutes!!! Place was almost empty. We just saw people wait and go We ordered food and drinks at the same time, but after 45 minutes we have nothing. Sausage stand has a better service. Take no risk. Good location, but in wrong hands probably:
Beautiful location on the river, good food, beautiful atmosphere and more than sufficient wine list. There is only one negative and this is the service that is friendly but very slow. Other than that, recommend.
We were a big party around 50 people and if everyone discarded as much as I did, the remains could have fed an entire village. The starter was good marinated salmon very delicate. The main dish was a kind of dumplings with cheese in melted butter; I struggled to finish one out of. four. The dessert was a nondescript mousse not bad tasting at all, but again around three or four times as much as I could eat and I'm a grown up man of 50... All in all edible except from the servings' sizes, but horrendously expensive € 70 per person inclusive wines certainly not a bargaing, even for Vienna...
The place got the award one of The BEST RESTAURANTS in VIENNA for 2013 !!! What else to say! Go and try. Beautiful place with lots of history, once designed to regulate the water level of Danube, now turned into a restaurant with magnificent austrian meals.
