We stumbled on this restaurant as we had been unable to get a table at Vapianos further up the road but I was very glad we went here instead as it was one of the tastiest pasta dishes I have had. It was a small friendly restaurant used by the locals which is always a good sign. The waitress was very helpful and the food was amazing. Definitely worth a visit! View all feedback.
What Alan Donati doesn't like about Osteria Stradina:
Cannot be particularly positive about this restaurant. We were seated in the downstairs area by choice as upstairs was a smoking area. Downstairs was pretty soulless and once seated and handed the menus it seems that we were forgotten about. We were about to leave, when the waitress appeared to take our order. As it was very cold and wet outside, we decided to stay.I had a salad which was pretty uneventful and my husb... View all feedback.
We had the sea bass and the prawn salad. both cooked well. My husbands veg was a bit overdone. Staff pleasant and spoke some English although we did have to ask for bread and they had to be reminded about our wine order.
We were starving, yet a little leery about sitting out on the sidewalk on a drizzly night with lots of traffic in the background. We we SO happy we took a chance! There are plexiglass partitions protecting us from the rain and most of the traffic noise. The waitress (owner?) brought our cuddly blue blankets for our laps, delicious food for our stomachs and an attentive manner. Would definitely go back!
We enjoyed a lovely pasta meal here. It's very busy, very popular, probably best to book if you want to go. We are inside, but there are tables outside. The restaurant is very small, you can see the kitchen and it is run by an Italian family.
We came to the restaurant at our first night in Vienna, as it was right next to our hotel (Das Capri). The staff was very kind and welcoming, and the food was good too, very authentic.
Went on a recent visit to Vienna. We were tired and could not be bothered searching around for somewhere to eat and this restaurant was about 50 yards from our hotel. It proves you don't have to venture far to get good food! We shared tomato bruschetta to start and followed with spaghetti aglio olio and tagliatelle bolognese all this being washed down with two large beers and a glass of pinot grigio. All was nicely cooked and excellent value at just over 37 Euros in total!
