They have a very full programme of t... read more This is a wonderful jazz club that is well worth a visit. Assuming you love jazz because this is a venue for the real fans. They have a very full programme of top quality musicians (local and international) and have a nice sense of history as they've been going nearly 40 years and hundreds of portraits of musicians on the walls. There aren't that many seats with a view of the stage so get there early if you want to a good spot. Once you are settled in there is table service. Good beer and nice range of snacks available. I recommend the cheese platter.

Went to Jazzland on a Monday evening expecting it to be half empty but we arrived about 8,30 and just managed to get the last table which had no view of the ban... read more Went to Jazzland on a Monday evening expecting it to be half empty but we arrived about 8,30 and just managed to get the last table which had no view of the band. This place is really popular so get there early if you want a good seat. The club is small and situated in two cellars which are mostly separated by a wall - on one side you have the stage and seating facing it, and on the other side there is the bar and tables with bench seats but they have no view or a very restricted view of the band. The bar food is basic - we all had pasta meals which were cheap and tasty but this place is really about the music and not the food - eat elsewhere if you want restaurant standard food. The band was excellent and the club has a great atmosphere about it which is all you can really ask from a jazz club. The customers seemed to be mostly locals ranging in age from 20s - 60s which was good to see, and my group all being in their 50's certainly didn't feel out of place. If you love jazz I would recommend this club but if you want to actually see the band rather than just hear it get there early!

My boyfrien... read more We got a little lost finding this little bar, but finally after walking around we saw a signboard at the end of the street with the word "Jazzland". My boyfriend was a little skeptical walking through the creepy looking doors, but I assured him(after reading all the tripadvisor reviews) that what lies behind will be amazing. Walked in, paid the cover charge, shared the table with a friendly local Viennese couple and ordered our dinner. We were there at 7.30pm on a Friday night and it was already filled to the brim. Dinner was great, beers were fantastic and service by the owner was splendid! I wonder how he handles the entire place on his own but he sure does a **** good job. That night, Mojo Blues Band were playing and OH MY GOSH. To say they were good was an understatement. They blew us away and we had so much fun! The pianist was out of this world. Actually each and every one of them were so incredibly talented. Me and my boyfriend are big fans of live bands and these guys have to be some of the best we have ever heard. They played well into the night and only finished around 1.30am if I'm not mistaken. We stayed until the very end(albeit a little drunk haha) and even bought one of their albums to take home with us. Jazzland was the best night out we had throughout our entire backpacking journey throughout Eastern Europe and we are definitely looking forward to coming back again the next we are in Vienna.
