Just plain excellent. The chef is...great. Service here is casual and very friendly. They all seem to speak some English and when we chose the daily menu I mentioned above, the food charge was about 12.50 Euros. Coffee and wine were extra, of course. A great value. Lunch was followed by excellent Hausbrandt (Swiss) coffee, which is quite popular in Vienna. The weakness of the restaurant is its wine list. Be sure to ask for a taste or a sample before ordering your wine. Reservations are recommended, since the place has only a half dozen tables. Large windows let in lots of daylight, another plus. Location is about a five or eight minute walk from the Ringstrasse Blvd. They also function as a fish market and you will see people shopping for fish to cook at home.

Obviously, they had... read more We returned for a festive lunch with a friend and ordered champagne. ouch! The champagne glasses arrived at our table with lipstick residue. Obviously, they had not been properly washed and, further, our server didn't pay attention to the fact that she was serving us...an expensive drink in filthy glasses. While this situation was quickly corrected after we summoned our waiter, it very clearly shows a lack of attention to hygiene. I doubt if we will ever return to this germ factory after this experience.
