I regularly visit Ostaria d'atri in Vienna as it is the best Italian in Vienna. The menu changes every day and is presented by the chef. Specialities include the tuna tartare and beef carpacio with cipriani sauce. I can highly recommend the Branzino in salt crust. The owner takes great care to buy high quality fish (no aquaculture!).Great selection of Italian wines as well (From Masseto to Gaja to Soleia). View all feedback.
What Ariadna Mata doesn't like about d'Atri Osteria:
We were told great things about this Italian and I feel it did not nearly live up to its billing. The srevice whilst reasonably friendly was excruciatingly slow. When topping up the wine the waiter appeared to pour in 50ml increments. Whilst the Grouper was...cooked to perfection the pasta was very disappointing being rater heavy and undercooked View all feedback.
Sehr freundliche Gastwirtschaft. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Kann es zu 100% weiterempfehlen. Zudem ab guter Lage!
Being there was a pleasure. It was recommended and it did not disappoint. Being Italian we always have low expectations on Italian restaurants but this is a true Southern Italy experience. From the starter to the dessert, from aperitivo to the wine, nothing was other...than perfect. The staff and the owner are amazing, always there to speak with you and suggest you the best picks for the day. One of the true plus is that they do not have a fixed menu so all their courses are based on what is available in the market in that season or week. If you are in Wien, and love true italian food...please, just go!
My fiancé and I visited the same day we got engaged. This was the worst dining experience either of us have ever had. The bread was very stale, there was no standard menu offered (big red flag), the martini I ordered turned out to be...a disgusting vodka tonic vermouth type swill served in a whisky glass. The entree (shared between us as we were highly skeptical of the quality after the bread) of octopus pasta with pesto was pretty awful as well. Overcooked pasta and borderline undercooked octopus. We were HORRIFIED. Do not eat here. FOUR STARS?!?! This is rigged. Should be ZERO! Whoever owns this restaurant I wish I could feel sorry for you. This experience highly offended me as a wanted the dinner to be a favorable experience for me and my newly minted fiancée. I hope you go out of business and someone competent takes over with an entirely new restaurant.
