When visiting Vienna, we definitely need to have a romantic dinner at Dalmatia. It's been 7 years since we first tasted the Dalmatian food here and, hopefully, they'll keep-it right many years from now-on. You'll visit also Croatia after this experience. View all feedback.
What Janessa Quitzon doesn't like about Dalmatia Seafood Restaurant:
We had calamari and scallops for starters and must say that both were very good. After which, we had fish, turbot. This was served fried. Cannot really fault anything except that we do not usually opt for fried fish and believe it or not just for the fish for both of us we paid €80!When considering the price that we paid for the whole meal, it is way too expensive. We enjoyed a wonderful friday night dinner in this soberly but nicely decorated restaurant; as starter we had the delicious fish soup (it is also available in a larger portion, ideal for a tasteful and healthy lunch!), we went for different mains, scallops at one end of the table, the seabass on the other end, accomponied with a side of grilled vegetable (charcoal grilled to perfection!). The suggested white wine was correct; our desserts were really nice as well! Service was nice, no nonsense,.. Would absolutely recommend! Just be aware it is the "italian" way of ordering food, so dish, sides.. to be chosen & ordered separately...nice, because that way you can "share"..
Dalmatia restaurant is located in the heart of the city, a 5 minutes walk from St. Stephans cathedral. This is one of the best fish & seafood restaurants in the city, offering a nice variety of fresh fish (Branzino, seabream, etc.), seafood (octopus, oysters & mussels) as well as typical Dalmatian specialities (a Prosciutto-style ham, served with figs). The wine list is a bit on the small side and there is no Malvasia by the glass. Room for improvement.Service was very friendly and attentive, pricing is mid-range.
Went with my boyfriend a few days ago. We took the fish cooked in salted crust, which tasted excellent! Perfectly cooked and great taste. We had to order appetisers because of the waiting time (40 mins for that specific way of cooking). I was a bit disappointed about the portions. I was expecting a bit more for the price. It's excellent fish no wonder, but I was feeling hungry again at the end of the day.
We found this restaurant totally by accident - whilst looking for a fabric shop. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not the cheapest; but beautifully served. Very helpful waiter - recommended fab wine.. can not fault and would go back again and again!!!!
If your looking for a good seafood restaurant in Vienna, this is the place to go to! Make sure to order the calamari...they are simply delicious! Looking forward to my next visit!
