What AJ R dislikes about Caffe Bacco:
The place is nice. The first dishes are good but when the main dish, tagliatelle al tartufo, comes, to say that they are a joke it is already a compliment. Cheap quality tagliatelle from the groceriy store swimming in some truffle flavored butter that tasted like nothing. Embarrassing for a Restaurant that pretends to be decen View all feedback.

Bacco Tobacco e venere is a somewhat different italian restaurant. No card. They serve what they have for this evening 6-8 courses about 30 euro). Lovely you don't have to think about choosing, nice with an italian restaurant without the global italian kitchen. We were served 7 small not so small dishes) starting with a few starters, a very good anti pasta to salads, pasta dishes and meat and a lovely dessert. The waiter chose the wine, a north italian chardonnay. But one warning, if you are a non smoker hard core) this restaurant doesn't have a non smoker department, but people behave. Anyway tired of schnitzel, and global cuisine. A good choice

We accidentally stumbled upon this little Italian gem in tripadvisor. It had a 5 star ratingband sounded delicious. We decided to try it. When we arrived it was closed with a reference to the address across the street. Small and cozy with a large group in a private room in the back. We didn't get a menu for either wine or food but the proprietor said we would get a nice menu and he would select a good red Tuscany wine for us. We gladly accepted the mystery dinner and wow! were we happy we did. Hone made and mouthwateringly delicious food and the wine was fantastic - rich and full and with fond menories of sunny Tuscany hills in every note. 3 small different bruscettas were followed by slices of 2 different slices of sausage and ham with wonderful bread after which thin slices of mushrooms mixed with shavings of parmesan and olive oil. Ravioli with unknown but fantastic filling followed (we don't speak German) so communication was mostly hand gestures. Thin slices of tender beef on champignon followed with a different but equally wonderful wine. Topping it off was a small dessert with small forest strawberries which we accompanied with a grappa. My head disagreed with my alcohol consumption the day after but my heart and stomach were happy. Thank you for a fantastic menorable dinner which I haven't experienced outside Tuscany's "Casa Masi" many years ago. I'll be back if I get the chance!
