after some wandering around this quarter, the preview has led into this small local. next to a well-occupied theke there is a handful of small tables. from the small card we have chosen ourselves roastbeef and schnitzel. what should be said, the title of the roast review was the spontaneous expression on the beef and my carving was broken on the tongue. the deep relaxed and very friendly service must hide a star chef... What Haskell Morissette doesn't like about Altenberg:
The Aubergine parmigiana resembles Ratatouille and the other dishes were also not authentically coupled with a very slow but friendly service. Would I go back when I visited Vienna again, probably not with so many other good restaurants around View all feedback.

Small Italian authentic bistro and wine bar, good food, wine and atmosphere. Cosy, warm and good service, great find.
Let this be the only review you need to read and from the point of view the most relevant. This place is 10/10! We stumbled over it and it looked so sweet that we came in. First, the atmosphere is absolutely juicy and lets you feel at home. They cook in the same dining room that we sat next to and it was so amazing to leave the hard work in every single element that leaves the kitchen. From drinks to appetizers to pasta everything was amazing. Make sure to try a bunch of different Bruschettas! Also the service was great and the waiter gave us English menus, but also helped explain what many foreign articles were! What a jewel and a must in Vienna!
A very friendly and quick service, quality and price of food is good. Location at the Karmelitermarkt is always good! We'd come back!
