I'm not sure why this is called a winery. They certainly have wine, but none that I saw is their own. Absolutely wonderful food unless you are vegetarian, gluten intolerant or just want a few healthier options. Half of our group really didn't eat anything substantial at a recent gathering of about 15 of us. Atmosphere is very nice! Food was outstanding, the wine was good, the atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend
There is a lot to like about Candywood but a winecellar/vineyard isn't one of them. This is a relative new eatery, opening during the pandemic. So the facility is very modern/new. And members of our group had prior good experiences. I checked the rating and was uncertain how it got the scores it did. We were one of two customers so seating and service was prompt. We ordered a charcuterie board to share with glasses of some non-descript wine. Two of the group ordered burgers and two 6oz sirloin. The charcuterie board was tasty. The burgers were huge in height. Once everything was piled on they were 8 inches tall. So they could only be eaten by dismantling them or eating with a knife and fork. The burgers came with a ton of fries. The blackened sirloin was merely grilled, presented atop four fingerling potatoes and 3 small asparagus stalks. My partner liked hers. I didn't care for mine. All in all, Candywood has a way to go. Given the price range there are other more appetizing restaurants and wine cellars in the area. UPDATE: 10 months later, I found myself back at Candywood. Not by my choice. Nothing much had changed or improved. Still overpriced bar food. The venue is nice enough. But the food just isn't worth the price.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and I'm already looking forward to returning. I tried the fish and chips, and it was absolutely delicious! The blackberry wine was both sweet and smooth. The Buffalo Cauliflower Bites had a nice tang to them but weren’t overly spicy, making them perfect for someone like me who isn’t a fan of spicy food. The ambiance was spot on, and the salvaged wood tables were stunning! I can't wait to enjoy the patio when the weather gets warmer!
I'm not entirely sure why this place is referred to as a winery. While they do offer wine, it doesn't seem to be their own. The food is absolutely fantastic, unless you're vegetarian, gluten intolerant, or simply looking for healthier choices. At a recent gathering with around 15 people, half of our group struggled to find anything substantial to eat. On the positive side, the atmosphere is lovely! I would recommend diversifying the menu to better accommodate food allergies and healthier dietary preferences.
This restaurant is lovely and provided a comfortable atmosphere for enjoying a wonderful meal. I had the prime rib French dip, while my husband ordered the bourbon bacon burger, both of which were outstanding. The wine was delightful, and the service was exceptional.
