The shitck of this place is that all the cookies are fresh-baked - they only bake small batches and are known in the area for delivering fresh-baked cookies. The cookies were very good, but not outstanding. The chocolate chip cookie tasted better cooled down than fresh. The oatmeal chocolate chip was better. The best feeling is biting into a warm gooey chewy cookie. These guy know how to make it right! I tried their almond white chocolate and regular chocolate chip and neither of them disappointed. They were perfect!
The Cookie Guy is a relatively new addition to the ever bustling Victoria food scene, having opened its doors during the Fall of 2016. The layout is simple and to the point: freshly baked warm cookies for any occasion big or small. My partner and I stopped by recently out of curiosity (and to satisfy our sweet tooth!). We were impressed by the selection on offer: classic chocolate chip, oatmeal chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, white chocolate chip w/ almond, and some fabulous gluten free options as well.What struck us was both the quality of the cookies and the fact that they were warm. How can one possibly beat a nice, warm, fresh cookie? Impossible! In a word, the cookies were delicious!We certainly hope that The Cookie Guy is successful. Being located in a high traffic area of downtown Victoria, I suspect the space rental isn't cheap. As well, warm cookies -- dine-in or delivery -- seems like very much a niche market. To remain profitable, they'll need to sell a lot of cookies. Maybe they already do -- I don't know. But my partner and I do wish them success because the cookies are easily some of the best we've had; in fact, they're only rivaled by "Cookies by George," which is an Alberta chain not found in BC.FOOD: 5/5SERVICE: 5/5VALUE: 5/5RECOMMENDATION: If you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, why not do so with some freshly baked goodness? The cookies are exceptional and well worth the visit!
The staff was extremely friendly and pleasant. However, the variety of cookies offered was limited and appeared to be quite basic.
We enjoyed a delicious warm chocolate chip cookie that was gooey and melty. The cookies were fresh and tasty.
