What fcoopfaff doesn't like about Ithaka Greek Restaurant:
We were comparing Ithaca to the restaurant preceding it. Service was great but we were disappointed with our food. We had the moussaka. It was barely warm and the potato topping was not fluffy and light but appeared like plaster. It was tasty but not great. Every other thing on the plate was stone cold (vegetables and rice). Excellent food, warm atmosphere. open area not conducive to intimate dining but staff very friendly and service excellent.
This restaurant has become our new #1 Greek restaurant. From the moment you walk in the door, to the greeting of the waiter, to the completion of your meal the staff makes you feel very welcome. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the different wines and was able to explain the differences, down to the grapes used, very clearly. The calamari appetizer was wonderful. The ribs were tender and flavorful and the Chicken Souvlaki was as tender as they claim. This restaurant is a true gem...just wish it was closer to home!
You felt almost like in Greece for a moment. Very authentic place where you can feel good with very good specialties.
Fantastic food, friendly service, great atmosphere! We sat on the patio on a cooler evening, we were offered a blanket but the outdoor heaters kept us toasty! If you enjoy Greek food, this is a must!!
We went for dinner with friends.A very warm welcome and a nice table.Great flambé Greek cheese,very fresh salad.The moussaka, lamb and short ribs were outstanding .The atmosphere is friendly and lively with music and dancing.A big thank you to the owner and his mother for a great meal (special thanks for the sinful ice cream we were treated to) we had lovely evening.Next time we are in Victoria we shall come again.
