I just needed a quick bite. Could have gone back, just didn't have time. The Caesar intrigued me with bacon and fried capers! Excellent. A Canadian white to go with.....perfect. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Heron Rock Bistro:
Went with a group and chose a quiet Monday lunch - hardly anyone there…I fear that the chef must have been away too. My choice of fish and chips was a disaster….a brown cone containing a few flakes of cremated fish should never have come out from the kitchen. Other choices by companions of French toast looked pretty slimy and unappealing. With so many wonderful eateries in town, in Oak Bay, in Fernwood, in Saanich and... View all feedback.

The food is wholesome, portions large and coffee great. Highly recommend lunch or weekend brunch. I have not been for dinner, but hear there is live music on weekends too.
We had dinner lunch and dinner there on our one day stay in Victoria. The food was excellent and the waiter very friendly. There was a 2 piece band playing at dinner time. Two guys who played excellent guitar tunes. Highly recommended
Had been by this place a number of times and finally got to experience first hand. Enjoyed the evening, excellent meals, excellent service and very good value. We first sat outside and then when the evening air cooled off we moved inside. Loved the place, will be back.
A number of locals recommended the bistro and the Sunday roast beef dinner. The decor is simple pub style but clean and comfortable, with tables outside and up off the sidewalk. Service was very good and the food quite tasty. I particularly liked the vegetables. They had flavour. We picked the three course roast beef Sunday special. There is the main course option also available. The chowder was quite tasty with lots of bits in it. The prime rib roast was ample serving with sufficient horse radish and gravy on the side. The beets were very tasty and accompanied with roasted carrots and asparagus and sweet potato mash. Two good desert choices were also offered. There were also a number of other menu choices that I would readily select. My only downside was the price of the beef dinner. For a pub it was expensive.
