What User doesn't like about Hamilton House Pub:
The service at this restaurant was awful. After getting our first drinks and placing our order, the waitress never came back to our table, even leaving empty glasses at the end of it. We had to go to the bar ourselves to get more drinks. Although the food was tasty, it took more than an hour for our cheeseburger and fish and chips to be served. View all feedback.
For one we sat down at a table we thought was clean because all the rest were dirty, when we sat down there was salt and pepper all over the table and the table had sticky spots. The waitress was sweet but as we watched her clear tables she didn’t wipe down a single one she cleared. The soda tasted flat with a little bit of carbonation to it, gross. The whole place needs an update it’s very outdated. Food was subpar. Calamari and cheese fries were good. Coleslaw was old and slimey, tasted funky. As we paid we got a look in the kitchen and it seemed to be very dirty. Not a place I’d go again.
The food at this restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed the atmosphere, especially the live singer. However, the service was disappointing. When my family and I arrived, our table was dirty and even after requesting a towel to clean it, we had to wait for a long time before one was provided. The waitress seemed neglectful throughout the meal, only attending to us when necessary. We had to ask for refills and for the bill, and it took a long time to settle up at the end of the meal. Despite the great food, be prepared to wait a while for service at this restaurant.
The Hamilton House is the only restaurant in the valley where I can find delicious clam strips and their tarter sauce is outstanding! The fish and chips are also excellent, with a wide variety of options available. Service is great for dining in, and the overall meal type is lunch. Prices range from $10 to $20 per person.
I would give this restaurant a negative zero rating if possible, but unfortunately that's not an option. I regret not checking the reviews before dining here, as I can see now why people would avoid this place. Having dined at many establishments across various states, I can confidently say that this has been the worst service experience I have ever encountered. Upon entering, my party of three was asked to choose a table, which we soon realized was dirty. The table top and napkin holders were covered in years of grease and sticky residue. We waited for 10 minutes before my brother went to ask for menus, and another 10 minutes passed before I had to approach the bar to request a waitress. Our order took 40 minutes to arrive, and when it did, our food was cold. We sent it back. When settling the bill, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the cold food and long wait times to the bartender, who summoned the owner. The owner dismissed our complaints, claiming we were just being difficult. I reiterated that all we wanted was decent service and a hot meal, but received no apology or resolution. The owner was rude and dismissive, and I have no intention of ever returning to this establishment. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience.
The food is really delicious here, but the staff is a bit understaffed which can lead to long wait times depending on how quickly you can get the attention of a waiter.
