Great food, food comes quickly and the 'plates ' are also quickly collected when empty.

Qualitatively one of the best (all you can eat) sushi restaurants in NL.

Shizen is a large sushi restaurant with a free parking garage in Vianen. We visited the restaurant to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. The exterior of the restaurant was impressive, and as soon as we entered, we were greeted by a beautiful interior that immediately transported us to the world of Asian cuisine. The food is prepared in an open kitchen, so you can see how it is made. The orders are placed via an Ipad, and we found this system to be the best compared to other sushi restaurants we 've been to before. There was an extensive choice of dishes and the service was fast. The first round arrived within 7/8 minutes of placing our order. Our only suggestion would be for the empty saucers to be cleared off the table more quickly as we had a small table for two and often had to assist during serving and declaring empty saucers. The fish was very fresh and 'Halal ' food was taken into account. When we asked which dishes were not 'Halal ', we were given a list of the non-Halal options. It was very nice that the restaurant took different diets into account. In addition, it was easy to see which dishes were vegetarian or vegan. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back for a repeat!

It's an All You Can Eat sushi establishment. It is always advised to proceed with caution. The last couple experiences we had with new sushi restaurants was quite mediocre, so we were a big anxious to step into this one. It was said to have the best sushi in Utrecht, so we had to check it out. Like many, it's a large restaurant. In the middle of the restaurant, the seating is a little uncomfortable, but at the sides of the restaurant and on the top floor, it's provides a little more shelter, which I like for a cozy night out. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered the deluxe menu (incl. sashimi and other specials for just 5 euro p.p. more) and ordered away with the tablet. Food came up very quick which was nice. Also drinks, extra wasabi and even the bill could be requested by tablet, which was very comfortable. No longer do you have to try and get noticed in a busy sushi joint, but you can just tab the tablet and return your attention to your company, which I very much prefer! The sushi was relatively good, but I am afraid I might be eating too much sushi and have problems differentiating the various flavors! To start with the bad: the handrolls were certain mediocre. You could taste it was refrigerated, and, while that didn't really impact the nigiri, but it did impact the temaki, unfortunately. The handrolls were flavorless and bland. And that's too bad, because I love handrolls! A tip for the establishment: make them as fresh as you can! The maguro and sake nigriri sushi were fairly good in comparison, and I also really liked their roll with ebi and wakame. Good combination! Overall, the sushi was very nice, but we both didn't have favorites that we wanted to order again and again. Still, we really liked it, so we'd probably return!
