La Dent Creuse - Vézelay

Having eaten Dent Creuse meals a week during, I think I have some experience of the place. Located in the bucolic setting of the commune of Vézelay, Burgundy, good traditional French dishes could have been expected. But no, the truth is unfortunately very different. I would like to point out that we were a group with a preferential rate (10 euros per person) so it is legitimate not to expect all the pleasures displayed on the normal menu at 19 euros. But let us wait to eat this type of food: an entrance made of a soup of potatoes cut to water (the taste is certainly not bad, but the texture holds more of the broth than the soup), followed by a thigh of pintade one can no longer lean (the poor poultry does not have to have a tripoting life) mingled directly with a green portion of hari Will dessert tell me? A cooked apple, yes it is true, a cooked apple, not a bad tongue, there must be at least one or two thousand caramel on it. (Please note that in the menu it is accompanied by a superb ice ball with vanilla, and caramel baths but as previously said, the incredible rate of 10 euros does not allow such an advantage). You still want some? Let's talk about the day or the hollow to play the great game for the group of 52 people who come to eat at home every day in this small village. We were allowed to enter the burgundy ham, which delights in normal time! It was a shame that he was so fat and that no dignified alternative was offered to our Muslim friends, the suite, the wine and pork pasta! I must admit that taste was a felicitation! (Those who do not consume pork will have the right to paste in their simplest device). But the quantity... Even the smallest eaters will only see a lover, so when we were announced a little cheese, the smile came back to me, it quickly disappeared when seeing these two miserable pieces of cheese we can no longer plaster, and especially serve as dessert! We also had the chance to participate in a gastronomic anatomy court on the day of the sausage lens, the prolonged cooking that we offered the original show to update all the inside of the sausages that unfortunately left all their flavors there. I wouldn't talk about the day we served a small slice of ham with a little paved patate, I'm sure the most temeral ones who read me so far will have understood or want to come. The staff is not unpleasant, without being very effective, for a table of 10 it was difficult to get a simple basket of bread when we had dared to finish the two bases, the water on the other side is served to the will of what luck!

Experience we won't renew. Unpleasant reception, long waiting. Server that receives no change in the very simple menu: remove fries from a plate. Very expensive salad for quantity, pizza for her very good. We were very cold during the whole meal.

Ice house yesterday noon. Restaurant without a soul. No music. 30 minutes waiting for 2 dishes while the room was far from full. Chablisian pasta was good, but the portion was reduced to the strict minimum, without cheese (finally if, 1/2 ramequin brought after). During the settlement, no questions about the meal, we are tended to the CB machine and barely goodbye. Getting away for 45€ to two without being filled, it's a comble. Tourist catch to avoid

A very good restaurant that welcomed us in group (28 people . Very good reception during the reservation and very affordable group menu (aperitif, wine, dish entrance dessert and coffee for 25€ with excellent regional specialties. Perfect!
