Who wouldn’t want to get to act like a big kid on a swing, whilst drinking delicious champagne?! My fiancé, my mum and I were all reduced to giggles whilst we took in the stunning view from The Perching Bar. It was such good fun, and also a stunning place to visit. The view is incredible and the champagne is delicious. It wasn’t the cleanest place though, as it was very dusty and it would have been better if it were an actual bar. It was more like a friend’s treehouse where they had a champagne fridge. It would have also been good if they took card as it was cash only, but we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
Nice idea, but definitely not a champagne bar. Treehouse that serves a glass of champagne on arrival. No staff around, just directed to treehouse, host delivered drink. No atmosphere, cold and not worth the effort to visit. A bar should be serviced with staff, no drinks on display, definitely not as advertised. Would not recommend
We had some trouble getting a booking this isn't easy and I needed help from a French speaking colleague to get it organised. This is why it only gets a 4 and not 5 star review score. The place is fabulous and well worth the trip from Rheims where we stayed. They only serve champagne or soft drinks though. This meant one of our party didn't get the beer he was hoping for! Really great treat and definitely somewhere special. I would recommend a visit if you can get a booking. Don;t turn up without one as you probably won't be admitted and it's a long way from anywhere else
What was missing? In short, there was insufficient attention to customers, there was an absence of wine list or any information about the wines available, there was no music, no snacks or nibbles and little atmosphere. The biggest thing that was missing though was Value for Money!
The guys display a full menu but can provide salami only, not even bread comes with it. They also have male young dog they do not control at all time. I asked to keep him away from mine but was summoned as an old incapable person. I guess those young inexperienced guys do not understand what responsibility means and insurance consequences. I did not let them teach me how to behave or train my dog as their own shows a miserable training. Sorry to leave a negative review in this poor period time but cannot refrain to react to overbearing ‘tourist operators’
