I followed up the review on L'Espera... read more Having spent most of the day walking around Versailles palace and gardens, we needed a little bit of comfort and good food. I followed up the review on L'Esperance from this site and we were not disappointed. A lovely welcome from the waiting staff and customers alike and we settled down to relax. The atmosphere was friendly and felt like going to your favourite local bar or eatery. We choose beef and lamb skewers on couscous. But what we got was amazing a huge bowl of couscous, tasty vegetable stew sauce to ladle over and extras chickpeas, raisins and harrisa, and then tender skewers of lamb, beef and merguez sausage. All for about 17 euros each. Fantastic value! Thank you what a find this place was! The location was good by the Cathedrale Saint Louis square, so seek it out and enjoy. We're back tonight.

It's got a huge area outside to sit, but was a bit chilly the time we visited, so we sat inside. We only had drinks, so can't comment on food. The wine and beer were very well priced. The staff were fantastic. The barman especially was very friendly. You;d highly recommend drinks here.

We found this quaint little cafe/restaurant but we're hesita... read more My girlfriend and I had visited the Palace of versailles and fancied somewhere nice to have a meal. We found this quaint little cafe/restaurant but we're hesitant as it was empty. Nevertheless we liked what was on offer on the menu. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady, who we assume was the manager. We ordered a small cheese and cold meat board to start which was perfect as it was not too big but satisfying. My girlfriend followed this up with a entrecote steak with salad and homemade chips. I had the roast chicken with salad and chips both of us finishing off our plates. We were then offered their homemade apple crumble which was equally delicious, albeit could have had a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. Delicious food, friendly and welcoming service and very reasonably priced (including 2 coke zeros, 2 lemonades and a gin and tonic, the hill came to 58 euros). Thank you to all involved for a wonderful meal.
