My wife and I recently did a day trip to Versailles, and due to the recent strikes, only got there around lunch time. Being a mite peckish and wanting to fortify ourselves before undertaking the daunting task of touring the palace and the grounds we went in search of a restaurant. After looking around the train station and deciding that these all had the look of tourist traps, we wandered a little further down the street and came upon the Garden Ice Cafe . It is a fairly unprepossessing exterior in a large commercial building, but the interior is very modern and, unlike many French restaurants, quite roomy. We both ordered off of the daily special list and had a liter of the house red with it. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious! Our total bill was very affordable and we both felt that it was good value for money. We would highly recommendthis place to anyone travelling to Versailles!

Birthday visit (not that we told them). But we picked this restaurant as we live in Adelaide. Waiter and owner very excited to hear and see we lived in the namesake of the cafe, although many many mile away in australia and not related to Queen adelaide.Food was nice - pizza and pasta and a mojito. First restaurant meal in a 6 week trip around Europe.
