I came here alone for a lunch because I wanted to try their Dim Sum. I was not disappointed. The only thing I did not care for was the chicken and rice in lotus leaves. However, the rest was good. What Kelly T doesn't like about Chef Yan Can:
I had a dim sum delivery of egg tarts, bao's, and siu mai. Overall the dim sum was OK. There are several items missing. The chicken bao was almost all vegetables. I barely tasted chicken, let alone saw any sight of it. The egg tart (set of 3) was missing 1, unfortunately. I haven't tried their non dim sum items. Perhaps I'll give them a go next time. I had an amazing experience with exceptional service and delicious food. Everything we tasted was full of flavor. The server offered excellent recommendations, which I greatly appreciated. My kids are usually picky eaters and weren't initially thrilled about stopping here, but even they ended up enjoying their meals. The smoothies come in cute bottles that you can take home with you. I will definitely return to try more dishes!
The clutter in the back storage area of the restaurant was quite off-putting. I would have given this place three stars if it weren't for the problems with the Dim Sum, the disorganized storage, and the overall lack of attention to customer experience. I recognize that these are challenging times, but this is the impression I had when I left.
I'm really glad we chose to explore this hidden gem in the mall, away from the food court. We tried the beef wonton noodle soup, chicken pad Thai, taro milk tea, and regular milk tea. Everything was delicious, and the kids loved it. The staff was very accommodating, providing extra bowls and plates to keep the little ones entertained and satisfied. While I wasn't particularly fond of the regular milk tea, the taro milk tea was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back!
Lacked the quality that it had from other times we ordered. Pork was so hard, unable to eat. Shumai was not the same, very dense filling. Egg foo young lacked seasoning. Not sure if we will be back here again. Very disappointed.
Rose was nice enough to recommend some Dim Sum dishes to try and everything was delicious! Will definitely come back soon!
