This place has a very cool feel, with great WiFi, and friendly staff. We got cappuccinos so croissants and orange juice for €4.50 each. The chocolate croissant was incredible! By far the best I've had while in Italy. TE cappuccinos were great as well and the fresh squeezed orange juice was so sweet and delicious. Others around me got a full breakfast plate that looked really good, as well. Would definitely recommend for a breakfast/brunch stop.

S... read more We are in Corniglia for one day and staying at one of the Airbnb. After reviewing the Yelp reviews we decided to choose Caffe Matteo as our choice for dinner. Service was excellent and the food was great. My wife chose the penne al forno that was quite delicious. I chose the canoli filled with ricotta cheese and spinach which also proved to be quite delicious. When we arrived however we were seated and not long after what appeared to be a one man band started playing some obnoxious country music. Who goes to Corniglia Italy to hear country music? Certainly not I. I felt like I was back in the states listening to some karaoke singer singing a sub par rendition of country music. Fortunately the music quickly halted long enough for us to finish our dinner. The music however started once again later that night. If anyone has any sense, please go back to playing Italian traditional music. I didn't cross the Atlantic Ocean to listen to poor country music just as much as I didn't come to Italy to have poor American food. Restaurant 4 stars, music 1 star.

You sit in an open air courtyard and get treated to some delicious authentic Italian food. The standouts to me were the gnocchi which was nice and creamy and the lasagna al ragù which is seriously some of the best lasagna I've ever had! Definitely recommended. :
