My wife and I dine there regularly and have never had a disappointing meal. Their Bassa fish, Hake, and various other items on the menu are consistently excellent, and the service is quite good. I've never encountered a restaurant that demands a 30% tip—only in New York. I believe Ocean Basket Waverly is the best of all the Ocean Baskets in Pretoria that I've visited. I wouldn't recommend dining at Queens Corner, where I've had three bad meals, or at Ocean Basket Newlands, where the Bassa I had was small, old, and dry. On a brighter note, this location offers an extra sauce on top of the three typically provided, which is a nice touch. Kudos to them! - Laurie Ibbitt

They offer their own chili sauce, which is delicious and not available at any other branch. The atmosphere is lively yet warm and inviting. They also have a special dinner for two, including two glasses of wine, for just R99. It's definitely worth a visit!
