Three of us - me from Adelaide and expatriates living in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur - found this pub for lunch while on a Hills drive on a chilly winter's day. Two of us had the slow-cooked lamb from the daily specials and the other the falafel salad. The lamb fell apart with a push of the fork and was very tasty. The salad also was polished off in quick time, all accompanied by beers from the wide range on tap.We ate... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Stanley Bridge Tavern:
Had lunch with friends Queens Birthday weekend. Selected venue on basis of website menu. Very truncated menu when we got there plus had run out of various drinks/dishes. Meal not bad (schnitty) but not what I was looking forward to. If this was a basic menu for a holiday Monday it would be nice to know. I can get a meal at home, I go out for an experience and today was a little underwhelmed. View all feedback.
We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Lovely attentive staff and excellent food.

The pub changed hands a short while ago, but the service was prompt and mine host friendly and attentive. A good choice.
Our last visit was great (2 years ago). We didn't have a booking but were accommodated and sat in the front bar area for a Sunday lunch. Only a very few people were there but we still had to wait 30 minutes for a curry and cassoulet. The cassoulet was nothing like it and my chicken curry had a rather unpleasant surprise. A small sharp piece of plastic that could have made some serious damage (photo-left side of the plate). I very carefully put the little invader aside and finish my dish being extremely careful. I informed the waitress to let the kitchen staff of the risk to other dinners. She apologised and left. We thought we wait for a few minutes in case the manager or the chef would come and see if we were ok but to no avail. Disappointed but unhurt! The two dishes were disappointing, service was civil....
Ate here with a large family group. There was something on the menu to keep everyone happy. Servings were generous, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The wait staff were friendly and efficient.
