I had heard of La Parroquia before even arriving at Veracruz. Really good restaurant that reminded of Brazilian Bakeries, where you can sit, have a coffee and eat. Always crowded, but it's a huge place so you won't wait for too long. Great food ! And you gotta try the traditional Coffee and Milk (knocking your spoon in the glass to call for more coffee). What User doesn't like about Gran Cafe La Parroquia Malecon:
Probaly once great, this chain has lost in favor as other coffeeshops have come into their own. The service is arrogant and prices do not correspond to the poor quality of bland offerings and poor coffee View all feedback.
Large Coffee Shop and Dinner Place, The best place in Veracruz where you can have a great coffee (the quality is wonderful, besides if you want a strong coffee (for the Lechero you can get more coffee and improve your experience. Dinner dishes are wonderful, service is good and prices appropriate. I was also there with a medical visit with a prince, twice with 2 diferent republic presidents and many others with my family and this last time with 2 Admoral friend and senator great place ever in the port of Veracruz a Jew of #oloresysabores en #veracruz
You can find better food in Veracruz. It's just a traditional name. Orange juice wasn't even natural. It is expensive and food is not really good, There are better places and better prices. I had the worst panuchos here.
If you come to Veracruz, you need to visit LA PARROQUIA is the most famous coffee here. The atmosphere is very bohemian. Enjoy a delicious Mexican coffee with a fantastic view of the port.
Loved this place! The service and food was for sure a 5 star. Musicians are in and out with great entertainment. This place is a much to visit. Dont miss it!
La Parroquia is a tradition. A Lechero with a canilla are the official taste of Veracruz to me! For a strange person it may be kind of strange to see people who call the waiter by clicking a spoon on the coffee glass, but hey, there are restaurants in Chicago we are a tradition to offend the waiters. It is also optional . I love this place, is where local business people still come to do business or socialize. I recommend, beside a Lechero, the Bomba with beans, it is an interesting local dish, savory and sweet.
