We d... read more My family and I were in Venice for 3 nights and happened to run into PreBateo on the second night just because we were looking for some dessert and drinks. We discovered a hidden gem! This restaurant is owned and operated by two brothers for 40 years, raised in Venice. If you see one of them, be prepared for a good time! They make the drinks strong and don’t let you go home without having a good time first! We came back the next night and it was just as good as the first!

The whole restaurant went silent, which was quite embarrassing. The desserts were clearly not homemade: very cold tiramisu, very dry chocolate cake. Do not recommend at all!

We loved it so much that w... read more I wonder has the restaurant changed ownership since the poor reviews because my family and I had a wonderful experience at Pre Bateo. We loved it so much that we visited 3 times during our trip! The waiting staff/owners were so friendly and obliging and the food was delicious and very reasonable. We had beautiful grilled fish, seafood spaghetti, gnocchi, lasagne and pizza. We ate at several restaurants with higher ratings during our trip which weren't a patch on this one.
