The food was excellent, wein couples were great, and the service was so friendly and helpful. we really enjoyed our dinner, especially the appetizers (oktober and sardines) and the squid risotto of inkfish. Thank you!
Everything was perfect, we had a great meal after the recommendations of the owner and the ambiente was a great curse from the tourist part of the city. I highly recommend!
The goal is always to provide a service to travelers and help the structure, where you feel useful. Thus, the place is very beautiful, character, on the back of a rather anonymous avenue, like a postcard of epoch, in the background, colored by the lights of the evening, there is the entrance of the obstacle from franz. in four, we booked for the second round, at 21, we were greeted at 21 and 30, we can stay, in the waiting, on the road, would be appreciated an aperitif, that there was, vabbè. small premises, about 30 covers, sophisticated and expensive menus, perhaps because of the event, there is. dishes to the minimum terms, appetizers: variety of raw fish, good, but definitely minimal, beyond the circumstances, cannellini in clam soup, good. first dishes: curlers with anchovies and onion that did not like much, one of us left half, we reported it, too sweet and little cooked onion, the pasta, even if fresh, too soft. very good garusoli ravioli. sweets: two bombmisu, original dark chocolate ball with cream inside of Tiramisù, very good, and two millefoglie, uncomposed, to the pear syrupy, good. a bottle of mud, water. coffee, passito and moscato. we paid the account at 23 and 50, in our opinion to measure, despite the date event, but this is not the point, we knew the menu and its price list, considering the hour however we would have expected a glass of something to celebrate the arrival of the new year, that there was, vabbè. Maurizio is the perfect maitre, and also owner, of this beautiful restaurant that took over from his dad. He is welcoming his guests with a smile, exquisite kindness and fluently in french and english and obviously his Italian is pretty good too : The ambience is traditional but not heavy, the mise en place is simple but sophisticated. Everything is thought in the details. Nothing is left to chance, Maurizio is taking care of everyone with attention, you will feel spoilt. The menu proposes dishes of the Italian and Venetian tradition revisited with a fresh touch. It is not a simple meal, it is a sensorial experience. Embrace it. Dare always, you won 't be disappointed. Last but not least compliment to the chef for mastering the ingredients in such perfect way. You guys are a definition of italian excellence. We received a recommendation from a friend to make a dinner booking at Hostaria da Franz when visiting Venice. We were not disappointed. We have been in Italy for 2 weeks and this was the most memorable meal by far. The freshest ingredients presented in beautiful and unique ways. My husband is still talking about the seafood risotto. We hope to visit again for another special meal next time we are in Venice.
