Visited in June (disappointed it wasn't open in April and had to wait). We go there a number of times a year and it is always excellent. The owners and staff very welcoming. Will be going again soon. View all feedback.
What Claude Adam doesn't like about Des Tourbieres:
We went based on a recommendation from a local family. We were there as for the first sitting in the evening. The setting is lovely, however I really don't think it was suitable for children. Ours were 7 and 3. There was little choice of menu and we didn't fee very welcome. The menu selection for the adults was extensive. Just a shame they hadn't advertised they they were closed on a Monday (I'm aware this is the norm in France) on Trip-adviser. Everything pointed to it being open but have driven there (with two 5 yr olds as it came highly recommended for children) to arrive to an "ouvert" sign and then come across a padlocked gate was all a bit disappointing - it appeared we weren't the only ones either as three other cars were performing 3-point turns having arrived to find it was very obviously closed. However we will try again as it does come as highly recommended .

The food is really good....plenty of choice. Well cooked and presented. The service is excellent. a very relaxed and informal setting but the welcome is so good. Looking forward to its re-opening in April after the owners have a well deserved break.
We went on a weekday so it was not too busy. Great local 'rustic' menu with a good selection of varying foods available. The little French lady serving was wonderful. She spoke French but was happy with us attempting the language. The coypu came out onto the adjacent lake and provided entertainment in exchange for bread scraps provided by the restaurant. We will be back!
