We sat at the back in the main restaurants and decided to have meat dishes as we had a lot of dish before! It was very good and tasty! Quick service and good prices! Seems like eating at the bar will also be nice as the atmosphere was nice. The menu offers a lot of options and good wines as well! We tried the one from Cadiz region and it was great!

Very friendly boss suggested our dinner and we got fantastic clams and the best roasted squid I ever tasted. There are tourists (like us) during the Semana Santa, but it’s full of locals, most of all at the “barra” for standing tapas. Very reasonable prices made the evening even better.

Even on the village steps they manage to place DIY dinner tables and chairs. Many bars are up-segment and charge tourist prices. Still, if you are willing to search a bit, you can find local places for lunch and dinner. Pepe Julián is one of those places. Tapas are ok, nothing special just ok. Prices are too.

The recipe of the ensaladilla rusa is a family secret. Pricier than in less central places in Vejer, but well worth it, also for the friendly service and great location.
