Contribute FeedbackIf you come to Las Herrerias , whether it’s walking through or staying for the evening, please pay El Capricho de Josana a visit. When we walked in the welcoming atmosphere was evident from the start. The host, Morè, was so warm my friend and both felt we had entered into her own home. Being vegetarian/vegan on the Camino can pose difficulties, and a lot of hosts (including the one at the Alburgue we were staying in at Las Herrerias) are very inflexible and rude about trying to accommodate us, but Morè couldn’t do enough to make sure we were suitably fed. We started with home grown tomatoes and white asparagus, served sprinkled with salt and an aoli served on the side. Our next course was a hearty vegetable soup, delicious and hot. My dessert was a home made rice pudding, topped with cinnamon and flavored with orange peel. All of the pilgrims meals come with bread, and a glass of wine. At the end of this I felt truly satiated and happy. If we could of, we would of changed our booking from Casa Lixa, and stayed at El Capricho de Josana.
Beautiful scenery, awesome room, excellent food and an Amazing Host! This place rivals and exceeds the quality and hospitality of any 5 star establishment.
Stopped over night in this area as part of a Camino walk with a friend. Great choice. Waiter was very helpful and courteous. Food was excellent quality and choice for all tastes Eating places are not plentiful in this area. This restruant offers a very good standard of service and food. Well worth finding.
Excellent service and food at the level of a top restaurant in Barcelona or Madrid As a hotel excellent rooms and service
I’m walking the Camino and this is day 25 for me. This was the very best meal I have had since I started. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner is onsite and assisting with the guests. The food is outstanding. The prices are most reasonable given the quality of the food and the preparation.
