I've frequented this restaurant quite a lot! So I'll say my two cents! My husband and I love eating here! We've probably tried the majority of items on the menu but some of our favourites include: raw oysters (we usually have malpeques if they are available), chawamushi, steamed clams and geoduck sashimi (they make a nice soup out of the leftovers too). Nowadays when we go, that's pretty much our standard order for appetizers plus, I always order the grilled black cod as well while my husband will order a huge assortment of sashimi with his kalbi dinner. We're both sushi lovers and to be honest, this is definitely one of the better places to have sushi - we have a ton of sushi restaurants in our area but we'll do the 40 minute drive to eat here. The only negative thing I have to say is it's a bit pricier than other sushi places but I guess you get what you pay for. Plus, we always order a ton of food so naturally, our bill tends to be on the higher side.

Firstly, I'd like to admit that I'm a sushi snob so the following comments should be read with that in mind. The first thing I noticed when I walked into Koganei was a fishy odor - never a good sign for a sushi place. We ordered drinks and individual selections of nigri sushi and sashimi. The service was very quick and efficient -- almost too efficient as one gets the sense they are hovering around you, waiting for plates to be finished. The sashimi was brought first (after the drinks) and they were fine -- not the best nor worse I've had (reminded me of sushi available at AYCE restaurants). The nigri came next. While the fish was once again fine, the rice underlying the fish was terrible in taste, texture and shape. The shapes of the rice differed from piece to piece of nigri sushi, and the texture and taste were just not right -- perhaps, using rice that was not particularly fresh? Overall, an ok experience but not one I will repeat in the near future.

I don't know what else to say about this place, just stay away, as far away as you can. I walked into the washroom, turned around, and walked out. My God man. Yikes, SMH.

The food is incredible—fresh and of high quality! The service is excellent as well. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I highly recommend it to everyone!
