The hotel is well positioned adjact to the lake, although facilities in the immediate vicinity are limited and we were not impressed with the town of Varese. The rooms, with very welcome air con, -temperatures around 40o! were comfortable with large comfy beds and good bed linen. The breakfast was good, however the evening meal was in all our opinions 4 of us , very modest. The steak was very tough and most went back. It is difficult to condemn a restaurant on the strength of one meal, however in our 4 week tour of France, Switzerland, Italy and back to France, by common agreement, this was the worst. Nevertheless we would have no hesitation in staying here again. The service was excellent and everything was very clean with good on site parking. I do hope our experience of the evening meal was an isolated case. One hint, If travelling down from The Alps, cut a corner off your journey by using the car ferry across Lake Maggiore at Intra. Its very cheap £16 for a 1/2 hour cruise and it provides you with beautiful views.

The food was good but I wouldn... read more We came on a beautiful day and ate outdoors. The restaurant/hotel is directly lakeside so you have a wonderful view of the water. The food was good but I wouldn't say it was excellent. Service was fairly quick and our waitress (I did not get her name) was really lovely. If you are not a hotel guest, there is some free parking available.
