Contribute Feedback What Wolfgang Wiemann likes about Big Ben:
Pub right on the market square, so a bit crowded. Ambience (inside) is a bit old-fashioned and, in my opinion, could use a little more light. Food was okay, prices are significantly more expensive compared to similar pubs in the outskirts of town. View all feedback.
What Peter Gibson doesn't like about Big Ben:
Stayed in Varde for the weekend visited Big Ben Friday afternoon. Nice place but no atmosphere at all. Kind staff but no selection of any English beer. Fish and chips were good but expensive. Or is that me being an old ? Really well replica of an English pub but empty of customers. Maybe that reflects on the prices….. 80dkr for a cider. Where does that come from. Almost as expensive as the Nim hotel . Nothing to say... View all feedback.
Try the Bøfsandwich!!! One of the best burgers I‘ve ever had. Super nice bar staff, too.
Nice place with good atmosphere and outdoor seating.
Just beautiful you definitely have to go if you are in the area
Great pub with delicious beers and great fish 'n chips, very attentive landlord
The ambience is great – that old pub style and great draft beer is a natural part of being at Big Ben. As always the staff' is great and makes you feel welcome – although not drooling on you (we are after all in West Jutland). I am glad to report that you now can find good food on the menu card. From snack style bites to solid traditional Danish food as you Mum made it (I am here assuming your liked her food of course). Try the real open sandwiches aka smørrebrød – (not to be confused with the Swedish “wanna be” smorgås)
