I was so glad to see that after a 2-year stay the original japadog food carts were reopened in burrard and smithe (via the scotiabank theatre). this modest JAPADOG card was dug from the dailyhive to the iconic part of the Vancouver food scene. Now, some 17 years later, this unique Japanese fusion has become one to try experience and an integral part of the vancouver foodie culture landscape. once a mere fad verschlagwortet, japadog certainly has destined that claim ten times over . . . . . but what keeps us coming back? so much I love the full of unique toppings available, I think his taste that lets me come back for more. whether the Kurobuta-Pork or the Wagyu-Rind, the hotdogs at japadog are high quality and packed with taste. id argues that the dogs themselves are the star and the beats are a carrying occupation, if also a supporting occupation that keeps the dinge interesting and fresh. seaweed? yakisoba? avocado? they really wouldn't think that one of these could work on a delightful boar sausage, but on a strange and satisfying way they made me wish, and the end result is always delicious! with a delicious black sausage, fried wobble, teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo and seaweed, this dog is the essential japadog. the teriyaki adds sweet, while the soultang gives the hotdog a beautiful (and crisp) texture. if they only have to choose a japadog to try it, they make it this! (side: each JAPADOG site had its own signature dog pre-panel. this was a big one because it encouraged them to visit all the units in and around vancouver. I have protected a few japadogs and did not notice any real exclusive food: 5/5 service: 5/5 value: 5/5 recommended: it is little wonder that the late anthony bourdain japadog is named one of his favorite places in the city. with its unique fusion and its eclectic selection of toppings, japadog has created rich aromes that are related to us and let us come back for more. very recommended! ps: I start thinking that the May reopening of the burrard JAPADOG car was a short distance. Since then, I have visited the website numerous paintings in juni and juli and, in contrast to their official streetfoodapp schedule, they have not been opened since ende mai and that is regrettable. Oh, good! at least there are the JAPADOG stores in robson, mcarthurglen and yvr to keep us satisfied! pps: if they found this review in some way helpful, please note that you will meet the helpful button!
Japanese mayo is legit. these dogs bark hard! great ingredients and very cool to see them created before them. Go!
During my visit to the Sheraton Wall Centre, I noticed a Japadog food truck across the street. My friends recommended that I try it and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! I will definitely be returning in the future.
Tasty japanese-style hotdog! And the meat is flavorful! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$10–20
Japadog offers a fun and unique twist on the classic hot dog by combining Japanese flavors with a North American street food favorite. The concept is creative and definitely stands out among casual food options in Vancouver. I tried a few varieties, and while the toppings were flavorful and interesting, the overall experience depended a lot on which combination you choose. Some options, like the Terimayo, were well-balanced and satisfying, while others felt a bit too salty or heavy. The prices are slightly higher than a typical street-style hot dog, but considering the specialty ingredients and novelty, it’s understandable. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out fresh. Overall, Japadog is worth a visit if you’re curious about a fun fusion concept or looking for a quick bite with bold flavors. It may not be something I’d have frequently, but it’s an iconic Vancouver spot that’s worth trying at least once.
