A stones throw from the marina and well worth a visit. We called in for breakfast and the team seemed genuinely pleased to see us, despite the fact the restaurant was very busy with tourists like us. What Daniel Olivares doesn't like about Le Bord d'Eau:
Servers run around serving anyone in no order, fast and furious. We (both French-speaking) finally ordered food but had a very difficult time getting anyone's attention to order drinks or wine or water or dessert or bread. No one ever looked our way. Even after ordering they would forget us. But the view was great. View all feedback.
Just the place to relax and watch the world go by. Sited by the old gate opposite the quay the world does go by. You start with a coffee, then an aperitif and then lunch and the day has gone but you better stay for dinner.
My wife and I called in here every day on our 7 day Vannes holiday. The first thing that strikes is how happy the staff appear to be. Always smiling and helpful it was a pleasure to be served by them, even if only for a couple of glasses of wine. We didn't eat there but the food we saw being served looked attractive and appetising.A pleasant location by the Marina, staffed by pleasant people.
Sat outside in the sun. Every table taken. The staff kindly asked some newly seated customers to move to a different table so our party of 5 could be accommodated. Nice burgers, good steaks and gorgeous chips! Great time was had by all. Had to wait a little but considering how busy they were this was acceptable. Staff were polite and efficient. A very acceptable Saturday lunch.
We visited Vannes by boat and on our first trip ashore found this lovely place to enjoy breakfast. Really good cafe au lait and fresh croissants. Then we came back for drinks at lunch and dinner in the evening!Food is simple but well prepared. We had moules frites that were very good and salad du jours and we also had delicious beefburgers. A main course, glass of wine and dessert for 12 Euros was fantastic value. The owner is charming, his staff very funny AND if like us you come from a boat you'll appreciate the very best toilets in France!! As a nice extra every table had a pretty plant. Great place!

Just one other thing, and for a Brit this is important, the toilets were immaculate, good job! They have a Facebook page which I have added elsewhere.
