Windjammers reviewThis place is great! The service is friendly fast. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The place is clean quiet. The decor has a wonderfully old, East Vancouver 1980s feel to it.A lady who helped me (she might’ve been the owner) said they’ve been in the owners of this restaurant for about 13 years but that the restaurant itself has been around for 50 years. It kind of looks that way in a r... View all feedback.

I really hate to give this restaurant such a bad review, because our waitress was so lovely, but I have to be honest and this was honestly the worst fish and chips we've ever been served. I grew up on the coast of Western Australia and have eaten a lot of fish and chips during my life time, and therefore have very high standards. The chips were overcooked and brown (not golden), there was such a thick and tough batter on the outside of the fish that we could not eat it. We all had to take the batter off and eat the fish only, and the garnishing of coleslaw on the plate looked old and had seen better days....we didn't even touch this. The only positive I have to say is that our server was excellent. Cost for this meal for 4 servings of fish and chips was $37, but I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
We were there for the lunch special, 3 pieces of cod, fries and coleslaw for $8 (before tax). Good service and good food.
Great prices for delicious food. Fish and chips are classic. My wife gets grilled salmon and loves it. Small, homey, hidden gem on the drive.
Having been longing for a place to get good fish and chips without a lot of "extras" I was so happy to discover Windjammer. Food is great and specials make this an easy choice on tight budget. Staff/owners are the best. I look forward to going regularly for my fish and chips fix!
We had very good lightly battered non greasy fish and chips. The value was fantastic: 3 piece fish and chips were $7.99 and all the beers incl crafts and imports were just $5. The small restaurant was very busy but the service was still fairly fast and very friendly. Truly a little gem on Commercial Dr!
