Was Anonym at The Emerald a mag?
Taking place of the long abandoned space where the famous New Diamond restaurant once situated is The Emerald, a groovy bar/ restaurant serving Asian inspired fare. The inside has been remodeled however the washroom and front entrance bring back memories of my childhood as those have not changed. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about The Emerald:
LOVE the 1970’s mid-century modern décor and ambiance here! The drinks were quite tasty and good, however the food was a complete disappointment. We tried the BBQ platter for two and the ribs were nearly inedible and completely burnt. The chicken wings were average and the corn bread was quite dense. We added a side of truffle fries which were quite good. This place is better suitable for drinks than dinner. View all feedback.
A local recommended we try out this place. Not only did we like the cocktails, but the bartenders were awesome, too! They were busy the entire time

Came here for drinks on a Saturday night, you can get Rob roys, Homebrew white russians, Rusty nails, all made especially with care for you by a talented bartender. Prices range from $9.75 to $12.00 for various drinks. the lounge isnt too big, so make a reservation and not be disappointed. We didnt stay for dinner or have appies, but they looked good from what we saw.
I had to see for myself why this place elicits such strong opinions, and I must say, I fell in love the moment I walked in and saw the tall red staircase and beautiful chandelier. Despite its musty party history, The Emerald Supper Club is a retro, cool spot worth visiting. The service was a bit cold, and my BBQ Pork Waffle Fry Poutine was lukewarm, but the goat cheese dip with caramelized onions and homemade potato chips were delicious. The waffle fries were also a standout. The music venue was fantastic, but reservations are recommended to guarantee a spot to see the band. Overall, I had a blast at this fantastically retro spot and look forward to returning.
Another food blogger and cocktail lover, "Picky Diner," has been raving about this supper club. It's one of his top spots in the city for happy hour, and now I understand why. After a few unsuccessful attempts to visit together (including a stop on a Monday when they're closed), we finally made it through the green door tonight.
