I had brunch there with my children and thought it was another place to go with my man for Valentine's Day. we do not like to go to chic restaurants and spend a tonne on a meal, but we enjoy great eating. they didn't disappoint. it was a four course set menu for everything was well presented, great tasting and original. the decent wee is only per glass. we were there early enough that there was a little left of the a... What User doesn't like about Spade:
A good not great meal. The pappardelle was the best dish we had between the of us. The chocolate cake was nice too. The gnocchi in squid ink was strangely sweet. Everything else was reasonable but not good enough for a return visit. Staff were lovely attentive. Didn't bring all the food at once so we were able to enjoy one dish at a time without others going cold which we appreciated The room itself would be nicer in... View all feedback.
The food was delicious and the service was good. Booze seems overpriced (but just a little bit).
I had brunch there with my kids and thought it was another place to go to Valentine's Day with my husband. We don't like to go to chic restaurants and spend a ton on a meal, but we enjoy great food. You didn't disappoint. It was a four-speed menu for $45. Everything was well presented, great tasting and original. A decent wine is only $8 per glass. We were there early enough that there is a little of the "Coffee Shop ' quantity left, which is a little loud at first, but it goes quieter afterwards. A beautiful place to drink a coffee in the morning and drink drinks and small plates in the afternoon. It'll be totally back.
We visited a special occasion but did not know that there was a set menu and there were no alternatives. As our first visit, I have it based on reviews that have been read before. It's a small place with some people on the ground. The place was not half full and we finished at the top of the dinner. Not sure if this is usually the case, but at least the noise level was okay. The place has an old taste, but spread to hipster feeling. It is a coffee shop of day and bistro of night. The 4-course court consisted of two herbal dishes, one main and one dessert. While the food was okay, it didn't jump on us for any particular reason. It was normal. In view of the price per person, we could not justify the meal. It came to over $100 by tips and we did not order drinks. Maybe it's a different story on regular days. The ambience is okay. At least the service was decent.
We had the Dine Out Vancouver 4 course menu...all was perfect.
Spade's Dine Out Vancouver menu, although limited in it's variety, was very generous. Salad (endive, blackberry and grilled Halloumi), appetizer (grilled cauliflower), main course (paparadella and meatballs or eggplant in a light cream sauce)and dessert (chocolate cake) with a glass of Prosecco, all for $30 per person. My friend had the vegetarian main and I had the meat option which we both devoured. Spade is a coffee shop by day and restaurant by night. The room still had the feel of a coffee shop more effort is needed to transition between the two services and find a way to creatively create a cozy restaurant ambiance. The service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely go again during Dine Out as this is one of the best values I have come across for this event, both this year and in years past.
