As we are European people we are not used with Vancouver marketplace. Just come back today before 5pm from this store, 585 Gore Av. Vancouver. We bought a little crab at 16.90$ per pound. Had to pay 35$ in cash !!I was very surprised and didn't ask for explantions. I paid, nothing more. No ticket, no invoice. When back home we weighted it for less than one pound. The good price was less than 17$. This behaviour is unacceptable !

Be brave. Go in, let the fish monger at the front door make a suggestion. Ask what's the special. On our day it was $1.99/lb Ling cod heads. Great for soup! We also picked up some salmon heads! Prices are written, so you won't get tourist charged.

As I work close in the area this was a convenient stop for me to grab some Spot Prawns for the coveted Spot Prawn season here in Vancouver. It was after work, so I was lucky enough to catch Calvin the owner unloading a van full of Spot Prawns that were massive and still kicking. We did he prawns sashimi style and a quick boil. These were some of the best prawns I've had even better than what I've had at sushi restaurants.Debating if I need to go for round 2 of prawns tonight.
