Feedback
The restaurant offers a mixed experience. While the food is generally good, the service can be a hit or miss. Some visitors praise the vibrant atmosphere and delicious dishes like the tortellini and steak, while others complain about lacking attentiveness from servers. The pricing and Happy Hour changes are also contentious issues for some patrons. However, many appreciate the cool vibe and fun ambiance of the restaurant. Overall, it seems to be a popular spot for groups looking for a lively dining experience, although individual experiences may vary.
Happy hour is the best hour when you're around your homies! We got a bunch of items to share and a white sangria pitcher to share amongst 7 friends. Highly recommend going for happy hour and save money! The food is 3/5. Typical expensive bar style food. The vibe is 5/5 because who doesn't enjoy friends for dinner? Here's what we got to share: Non alcoholic pineapple cucumber mule: A tasty refresher if you don't drink! 5/5 taste Crispy prawn sushi taco: Not really a taco. It's just a wonton wrap with sushi rice, mango, fried prawns, with spicy mayo. 2/5 taste Truffle fries: Super addicting and delicious! 5/5 taste Margherita Pizza: Hit or miss. Tomato sauce was on the salty side. 2/3 taste Seafood platter: Extremely overpriced. 1/5 taste Warm spinach three cheese dip: Delicious! 5/5 taste West Coast Prawn Pizza: A unique tasting pizza with prawns! 3/5 taste Ahi tuna poke bowl: Tasted like any other poke bowl. 3/5 taste
Delicious steak, ribs, and Cajun chicken! Great environment and friendly customer service. A large location with plenty of seating but I recommend to make reservations. The drinks were also delicious and I would recommend grabbing at least 1 cocktail. It?s not a huge deal, but the kitchen got my orders wrong 2x. I asked to substitute my warm potatoes for mash potatoes. I informed the server, but told her I actually ended up enjoying the warm potato. I also ordered a poke to go and asked to replace the rice with greens. I didn?t check my order before I left and once I got home my request wasn?t granted which was too bad. Hope this doesn?t happen to others, but I will just have to check next time.
Nice lively atmosphere, good food and service. The chicken breast was tender and juicy, absolutely cooked to perfection, a hard thing to do. Thre only critique I have was the too much cream sauces to point that my mouth was just covered with lots of cream, had to keep wiping my mouth with napkins. Tropucal creme burlee was a hit, the fruits cut through the richness and balanced the dessert nicely. Temperature inside the dining room was a bit cold, forgot to turn up the heat ?
During my recent visit to Vancouver, I stopped by the Hornby Street location of Earls Kitchen Bar—and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory. As a vegetarian/vegan diner, I often brace myself for limited options or awkward substitutions. Not here. From the moment I walked in—without a reservation—I was greeted warmly by Joan, who not only made me feel welcome but also took the time to listen to my dietary needs and help me plan a satisfying meal. She even found me a great seat. The culinary highlight of my visit was their Santa Fe salad, customized to my preferences by replacing the chicken with Cajun tofu. And let me tell you—this wasn’t just a salad, it was a culinary experience. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, the sweet vinaigrette was perfectly balanced, and the blackened tofu was flavorful, spicy, and absolutely addictive. The kitchen didn’t just accommodate my request—they elevated it. Their chefs are artists. I also ordered a side of broccolini, which they kindly seasoned with Cajun spice just for me. It was vibrant, slightly smoky, and utterly delicious. Service was another highlight. My server, Sophia, was attentive, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to making sure my meal was perfect. She checked in at just the right moments and made me feel truly cared for—one of the best service experiences I’ve encountered. The atmosphere was modern and relaxed, perfect for both solo diners and groups. It’s the kind of place that feels upscale without being pretentious. Final verdict: Earls Hornby is the real deal—thoughtful food, exceptional staff, and an inviting vibe. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just seeking great food and stellar service, I highly recommend stopping by. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in town.
