This is a must-visit spot in Vancouver for Taiwanese cuisine. Be sure to try the Taiwanese popcorn chicken, potstickers, hot and sour soup, and braised pork with rice and an egg – they’re all excellent choices. Our service was fantastic, and the restaurant itself was very tidy and clean. I had heard wonderful things about the three cup chicken, so I ordered it. It came with rice and side dishes at a very reasonable price. I absolutely loved this dish—wow! If I had been hungrier, I would have definitely ordered another bowl of rice. The savory chicken combined with ginger was delightful. I had a bit of a cold, so this meal was incredibly comforting and a perfect Taiwanese dish. My girlfriend opted for the hot and sour soup noodle bowl, but unfortunately, she didn’t enjoy it at all. She didn’t want to waste food, so she decided to take it home with her. Would I come back? Absolutely! I’d love to try the spicy beef noodle soup and, of course, the three cup chicken again. We also noticed on the napkin that this place is affiliated with Uncle Lu.
It's honored as one of the best foods in Taiwan and has a history of 60 years! I remember ten years ago, a friend invited me to try it, but I declined, thinking it would be a bit embarrassing for a woman to gnaw on pig's feet in public. Haha! After just tasting a small piece, I realized I was completely wrong. This traditionally marinated pig's feet dish is delightful! Even without dipping it in the shop's famous secret sauce, the skin is tender, and the meat is crisp, sweet, and tasty—definitely not greasy at all. Plus, the server thoughtfully sliced the meat into manageable pieces, arranged beautifully on the tray, making it easy to eat elegantly! I finished off my meal with a passion fruit ice shave with just a hint of sugar—what a perfect match! Despite the gloomy weather, it didn't dampen my spirits at all—I'm so happy! Oh, and by the way, the restaurant is called Uncle Lu. By Shawna
Good service <br/ good food <br/ limited parking space <br/ average price <br/ if I had to choose 1 dish : spicy beef noodle soup<br/ would i go back ? Yes
Honestly whenever I come here, I always get the salted peppery chicken noodle soup and it never disappoints. Always comes seasoned, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside with crispy basil. The Chinese 'oil ' noodles they use goes well with the chicken. I never get the bubble tea though...
