Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, Press Sushi stands out as the city's only all-vegan sushi restaurant, offering an intriguing twist on traditional dishes. While the aesthetically pleasing presentation captivates diners, many find the flavors lacking, with a common sentiment of blandness and insufficient seasoning. Signature dishes like the Daishi platter provide a mix of hits and misses, while the fried chicken and innovative mocktails earn praise. Though the service can be slow due to limited staff, those who choose wisely from the menu might discover delightful surprises amidst the inconsistent offerings.

While I did enjoy it, the portions were very small and 2/4 of the kinds I tried were kinda bland. The Mexican and the King Oyster Mushroom ones were absolutely fantastic though! Updated from previous review on 2023-08-26

I had a decent meal at this restaurant. It's great for a quick bite in between meals. The rice didn't seem very fresh, perhaps it had been in the fridge for too long.

I highly recommend ordering ahead for dine-in at this restaurant, as we ended up waiting 2 hours for our food. The upside is that the sushi we ordered was really, really good! However, it seems like the restaurant needs help with its operations. It took 70 minutes for our food to arrive, and there were only two employees working tirelessly. They could improve efficiency by pre-mixing common mocktail ingredients and preparing sushi ingredients in an easily accessible spot. The slow service was a bit excruciating, as very few plates were coming out of the kitchen. To make matters worse, one of the items we ordered was not even available. After waiting for 90 minutes, we decided to finish our dinner next door at Afghan Horseman. I truly want this place to succeed, but they definitely need some advice on how to run the restaurant smoothly.
