The scent of fresh bread brought us into what a large selection and samples to boot! The bilberry lemon peels were moist, but the cinnamon rolls were amazing! Good and yeasty, without being excessively wide. We came back twice during our visit!

I randomly walked in here Sunday morning and was immediately greeted by the aroma of fresh bread.

We popped in here once and ordered a few things. We found the sourdough rolls to be good, so we decided to go back to get more sourdough rolls, and to try a few new things to take back to the States. Our second visit was when disaster struck. The same fellow (who helped us before) was behind the counter. He was a skinny short chap with glasses (I only include this in case the owner wants to know which employee this was as we did not see a nametag). We asked for six of the sourdough rolls, and I asked him to double wrap them as we were taking them home, and we wanted them to be as fresh as possible when we arrived. He discounted that, and retorted No, our items are guaranteed to be fresh for four days, so I don 't need to wrap them any more . I was stunned that he would rebuff such a simple request. He then asked us from where we were visiting, and this is where the trouble really took off . He then began lecturing us on his contempt for the US Government, Trump, etc. This was so awkward, and truly unnecessary. I told him (politely) that we don 't work for the U.S. Government, and that we simply wanted some of their breads and scones. He kept on about how Trump was preventing Cob 's from opening more stores in the U.S., that they (Cob 's) had three locations in the U.S., but that Cob 's wanted to open MORE ...and.... We were in a whirlwind as to how to get through this **** order. He was casually bagging, but he was very distracted by his monologues of contempt. He also kept forgetting which scones we had wanted. I repeated the type each time he asked (in between his political rants). I, again, asked him to bag the scones separately (as they are more delicate than the rolls, and we wanted them to be as fresh as possible for the next day. He repeated the same four day guarantee lecture, and so he said he did not need bag them separately . Sigh. We would not be ABLE to return all the way back to Vancouver to return stale breads or scones. I was truly frustrated with his rudeness at declining simple accommodations. We had RETURNED to his establishment, which he should have taken as a compliment. I had to remind him three times, between his little political rants, that we also wanted chocolate croissants. We were out of Canadian money, and so we had to charge the order. He said (and I do NOT jest here): You are seriously going to charge this? . I was exasperated, and just wanted OUT at this point. He handed us the (single) bag and we left. Imagine my frustration, after I coddled this bag of baked goods on and off of planes, only to arrive home and discover that... He shorted us on the sourdough rolls. We came home with FOUR, not six. He gave us all the same flavor scones (despite our repeated Q A about this). So we paid for more rolls that we received, and we paid for scones that we did not receive. And guess what? They do not last FOUR days. The rolls were stale by day #2. I am taking a picture of one for this review, and then tossing them all in the rubbish bin. I also did check their website. Curiously, it did not list any locations in the U.S. (as this chap claimed). Perhaps the website needs updating. The website did seem to be looking for people to buy franchises. That was all I could find. Again, perhaps the website was not updated? I do hope the owner will read this, as I do not think this chap has the best interests of the business in mind. We simply wanted to buy more of their products, and we ended up with stale goods. We also were charged for more than what we were given. And we felt that this employee actually punished us simply for answering his question as to from where we were visiting. I shall say EARTH the next time.

This is a good place to get a quick breakfast to thank your hosts. A good selection of cheap, freshly baked treats that guarantee you an invitation for a repetition visit.

This was my first time walking into this place which was recommended to me by a local. It was about 7am and we were looking for quick bakery breakfast food and ordered the ham and cheese croissant. I enjoyed eating the pies from there because you could tell they were freshly made an hour before I got there. They weren't hard or old pastries. We added a lemon danish which was excellent and because we ordered 3 things, we were able to spin the wheel and I won an additional pie. I would definitely return for more pies and recommend it to others.
